MUUV Food in December: BAKE by Rayanne Fries

"I started dating my now husband (who has food allergies) in 2005. He introduced me to some gluten free food, and it was only mediocre at best. Lots of it was boxed, packaged, preservative filled food. One day, for my birthday, my husband made me a "gluten free pizza" in a pan, on the stove! It's not like we were without an oven, it's just the only way he found to make the gluten free crust work. Needless to say, I was not impressed with this mushy, wet "crust". I set out to bake, not only a good gluten free crust, but a gluten free crust that everyone (wheat eaters and gluten free'ers) would enjoy! I then continued to make foods he had not had in years, brownies, cookies, cakes, and bread.
In the last 10 years I have called, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Oregon, Alaska, and Idaho home. Oh, and the RV that we lived and travelled in while working as a national marketing team. Through our travels I saw a lack of gluten free food, but met many people with allergies or intolerance's like my husband.
Upon moving to Boise permanently in late 2009, I started to really focus on living locally. I was quite relieved to get off the road, and step into a community full of amazing people. I see a need for gluten free and allergy sensitive baking in the valley. This is where Bake - Gluten Free was born. I am happy to have this opportunity to debut my products and company at Muuv this December! Thanks, hope you enjoy!"

Ambassador Passports are on sale NOW at MUUV and other participating studios!

Six local studios, each giving away 2 drop-in classes for each passport sold, that's 12 classes! The passports are $20 and 100% of that goes to the Strong Kids Campaign at the YMCA!

#2 We can't forget our furry friends this time of year! NAC-Northwest Animal Companions is a non-profit, no kill organization for animals. They have recently opened a huge and very cool thrift store ReStyle. Proceeds from the store go towards building their dream no-kill sanctuary. They offer foster care and low cost spay and neuter as well. But right now just having the basics helps immensely. Through Dec 22 feel free to bring in dog or cat food and kitty litter, and they will be overjoyed. Check out their website for more information about NAC the thrift store and more!

A native Idahoan, Vicki Hodge has demonstrated on her blog, Vegan Vice that vegan food is fun to prepare and supports a healthy lifestyle. Vicki won PETA's first-ever "Cooking With Kids" contest and over the past decade has tested recipes for several of the world's leading vegan chefs, including Sarah Kramer, Dynise Balcavage, and Nava Atlas. Also a native Idahoan Andi has been vegan for over 15 years and vegetarian many years prior. Her popular class "The Whole Way to Eat" taught participants that eating organic, whole, vegan foods can be delicious and fun! She loves cooking and sharing meals with family and friends, and contributed recipes to the vegan cookbook "Kitchen in the Clouds". She also enjoys coaching people as they transition to a plants-based lifestyle. Andi is married and her active teenage son has never eaten any animal products and is becoming a great cook himself. Culture!

MUUV in concept has never been a place limited to exercise. As we are growing into ourselves we know were ready for a new addition to what MUUV is. Be on the look out for our new sectioned called Culture. This where sharing amazing food concepts, lectures on health and organics and general well being can be found.

Don't forget design and art too! January brings in our first batch of clothing from a very special clothing line, we cant tell you yet, but I bet you know who! And design oriented objects for gifts and the home living environment.

This new addition to MUUV is about all of us as a collective and the talents we have to share. If you have a culture or special class idea please let us know.
